The first tool we’re learning to use in Web Technologies for Planning is WordPress. WordPress is a free and easy platform for building nice websites. For example, this very website was created through WordPress’s site building interface. Websites and web publishing are important in the planning process as well as for city government as a method of informing, assisting, and engaging community members in the process. An easy-to-navigate, informational website can help members of the community to be better connected with resources, give feedback, and understand their city better, as well as helping them to discover ways to become more active and vocal citizens.
